Dr Catherine Cumming has a wealth of political experience.

Being elected to the 59th Victorian Parliament is an exciting opportunity for Catherine to represent the greater community of the western suburbs as one that listens to and represents the voice of the people – and has community safety as the top priority.

A demonstrated ability to listen to the people of her community and create the positive changes they need as an elected member of the Maribyrnong City Council for 21 years, including 2 terms as Mayor.

Catherine is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a life-long resident of Melbourne’s inner west. Born in Williamstown, raised in Footscray, educated in Braybrook – completing university in St Albans. Melbourne’s inner west is where she continues to work, reside, raise and educate her 5 children.

An experienced businesswoman, Catherine established cafés in Yarraville and Footscray as well as two successful Alternative Medicine practices in Footscray and West Footscray – in addition to serving as a member of the Australian Army Reserve.

These real-life experiences have enabled Catherine Cumming to fully understand and tackle the common-sense issues important to the people of communities she represents. Namely the importance of providing them with real opportunities for safety, education, employment and recreation – where they live.

Catherine’s highest values are honesty and integrity and her number one driver is helping people to help themselves.
